Don’t be disqualified! Read these important rules before entering.
CONTESTANT ELIGIBILITY
1. Employees and relatives of the Production and its Official Sponsor are not eligible.
2. Open to any legal U.S. resident young men and women ages 15 to 25 can join as of August 23, 2008.
3. Contestant below the age of 18 must have a written consent from parent or legal guardian to join the competition. Parental/guardian consent is included on the application form.
4. Must be single and does not have child/children.
5. Must be willing to travel.
6. Must be willing to promote the pageant and its major sponsors.
7. Must have good moral character.
8. With background of Filipino race.
9. Able to promote its talent in stage.
10. If chosen as semi-finalist at Face Off and finalist at Finals, must be willing to promote itself in the community through selling ballot votes.
11. Commit the time to attend production meetings and appearances.
12. Contestant must fill out an application form and submit to the production representatives.
13. The submission for application will commence on August 23, 2008 and end on January 30, 2009.
RULES OF THE COMPETITION
1. The 1st level of competition, Elimination, is split into two (2) schedules. First batch is on January 31, 2009 and the second batch is on February 28, 2009. Each contestant will be provided with the details of date, time and location of the Elimination round. Popularity ballot voting will start at Elimination round. Each contestant will be given sets of ballot tickets that they will sell to friends and family for voting. At the event, each contestant will go through a 3-minute panel interview for stage presence. Criteria for judging: (a) Q&A and Stage Presence – 70%, (b) Ballot Vote – 30%. Forty (40) male and forty (40) female will be selected to move forward to the 2nd level of the competition, Face Off. Casual outfit only.
2. The 2nd level of the competition, Face Off, will be held on March 28, 2009. Production will provide the following details to the selected contestants at Elimination day; (a) location and time of 2nd round-Face Off, (b) details of the program, (c) outfits. Contestants will compete on the following categories; (a) Question and answer (20%), (b) Appearance – Casual wear (40%), (c) Talent (10%), Popularity through ballot voting (30%). All points are recorded. Standing for each category will be published during the competition/program. Twelve (12) male and twelve (12) female will be selected to move forward to the 3rd level of the competition, Finals. All selected contestants at the Face Off are the final reigned twelve (12) boys and twelve (12) girls Calayan Star Pageants. Contestants will be given allotted number of invited guests to watch the Face-Off. Details will be provided by the Production.
3. The 3rd level of the competition, Finals, will be held on June 27, 2009. Production will provide the details of location and time will be provided to the contestants selected at Face Off. Production will provide the following details to the selected contestants at Face Off day; (a) location and time of 3rd round-Finals, (b) details of the program, (c) outfits. Contestants will compete on the following categories; (a) Question and answer (20%), (b) Appearance – Formalwear (20%), Swimwear (20%), (c) Talent (10%), Popularity through ballot voting (30%). All points are recorded. Standing for each category will be published during the competition/program. Scores and votes from the Face Off are not included into the final competition. New set of judges will be selected for the final competition. Contestants will be given allotted number of invited guests to watch the final competition. Dinner will be served. Ticket price will be announced. The following winners will be selected:

4. Ballot vote is $2.00 each. Each selected contestants at Elimination and Face Off will be provided with the ballot vote tickets immediately after selection.
* 1st top 10 voted contestants – will receive 30%-21% points (1% point off each contestant)
* 2nd top 10 voted contestants – will receive 20%-11% points (1% point off each contestant)
* Last 21+ voted contestants will all get 10% points
* Ballot vote results will be announced during the competition.
5. Ballot submission and tally count.
* A deadline for ballot vote submission will be provided to each contestant.
* Ballot count will be tallied at submission and counts will be provided to the contestants.
* At Finals, Contestants will be given a last-minute vote chance to submit additional solicited votes at the day of the competition, 4 hours before the show.
* Last minute ballot count will be tallied at submission and counts will be provided to the contestants.
* Total final counts will be published during the competition.
