Three Kinds of Security

Sure but not secure.
These people believe that they have confirmed reservations in heaven---but they are deceived. They're like the legalists of Jesus' day who mistakenly thought that God would accept them on the basis of their own good efforts. (Luke 18:9-14)

Secure but not sure.
This person has trusted Jesus as Savior and is held firmly in the protective hand of God (John 10:27-29). But when failure occurs, or when mental, physical, and emotional exhaustion set in, such a person becomes confused by feelings.

Sure and secure.
Such a person has accepted Jesus as Savior, is walking in this new relationship, and enjoys the confirming evidence that signals the reality of new birth. This evidence is described in 1 John.

-Belief in Christ's saving work (4:9-10; 5:1).

-Confidence in the Word of God (2:4; 5:13).

-A new way of life (2:3-6).

-The awareness of the Spirit (4:13; 5: 10).

-A love for other Christians (3:14).

If you are not both sure and secure, make sure you have taken the first step. Recognize that there is nothing you can do to escape the penalty of your sin---except to throw yourself on Jesus' mercy, His death for your sins, and His saving life. Trust Him for what you could never do for yourself, and then rely on God's promises (John 3:16; 6:37; 10:27-30; Romans 6:23; 8:28-39).

Girls Talk: Favorite Chocolate & Pastime

November 12, 2009 (last week)

Favorite Chocoloate

Believe it or not guys... I'm not really a BIG fan of CHOCOLATES or any sweets. I mean, I'm not like my younger sister who think and eat chocolate whenever she's bored. Hahaha! But, it doesn't mean also that I don't eat chocolate or don't have my favorite... =) of course I eat 'em and have my favorite too. I just don't like chocolates that are too sweet... that's why I love LINDT Lindor Chocolate Truffles. It's not too sweet and it has a unique taste that I've never tasted in other brands. I really fell in love with this chocolate! Delicious!

November 19, 2009 (today)
Favorite Pastimes

1. Cleaning/Doing Household chores- Yes, that's right! This is the first thing I do whenever I'm at home and bored. Call me clean freak but I just can't stand walking around the house or sleeping, seeing my surroundings dirty and or messy. As much as possible, I really want a clean and fresh environment before I can do other things.

2. Eating/Cooking - FOOD is my BESTFRIEND! =) I really enjoy cooking and learning new recipes and of course, I enjoy eating as well! Cooking and Eating are my second favorite things to do during my pastime... I guess you can say that this is also one of my preparations for the future... when I get married. I want to be able to serve my own Family healthy and delicious dish.

3. Watching my Korean/Taiwanese/Chinese/Japanese/Filipino dramas and MOVIES - If only we don't live in a apartment and if I have my own room again... I probably have thousands of dvd collections already! I even dream of having a separate movie room in my own house. =) Yay!

4. Reading- I've always believe that reading helps my brain works! It enhances my thinking and vocabulary skills. So whenever I'm bored too and can't cook, eat, watch, or done with my chores... I read.

Why Do We Celebrate Thanksgiving???

In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanaog Indians shared an autumn harves feast which is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. This harvest meal has become a symbol of cooperation and interaction between English colonists and Native Americans. Although this feast is considered by many to the very first Thanksgiving celebration, it was actually in keeping with a long tradition of celebrating the harvest and giving thanks for a successful bounty of crops. Native American groups throughout the Americas, including the Pueblo, Cherokee, Creek and many others organized harvest festivals, ceremonial dances, and other celebrations of thanks for centuries before the arrival of Europeans in North America.

Historians have also recorded other ceremonies of thanks among European settlers in North America, including British colonists in Berkeley Plantation, Virginia. At this site near the Charles River in December of 1619, a group of British settlers led by Captain John Woodlief knelt in prayer and pledged "Thanksgiving" to God for their healthy arrival after a long voyage across the Atlantic. This event has been acknowledged by some scholars and writers as the official first Thanksgiving among European settlers on record. Whether at Plymouth, Berkeley Plantation, or throughout the Americas, celebrations of thanks have held great meaning and importance over time. The legacy of thanks, and particularly of the feast, have survived the centuries as people throughout the United States gather family, friends, and enormous amounts of food for their yearly Thanksgiving meal.

What If It's True?

Someone once said, "Life is like a wild goose chase--- without the goose." In the midst of the search, however, the Bible assures us that the Creator of the universe cared so much for us that He came seeking after each of us.

In a world of loneliness, despair, and rejection, the Bible offers hope and encouragement. In the words given to a blind beggar: "Cheer up! ... He's calling you" (Mark 10:49 NIV). Yes, the Creator cares for you! With that awesome truth in mind, consider the words of astronaut Guy Gardner, who said this about what he learned when he saw the marvels of the created universe in outer space:

"It's very hard to think this must have happened by chance.... You realize at the same time that there had to be a Master Designer, a Creator of this planet. And to me that makes life all the more special. Because that tells me that instead of me being something that just came along in the course of time to live and die, that instead of a meaning less existence, I have Someone--- who cares for me--- who has made me and cares about me. Someone I can go to with my troubles, and my cares, and my joys."

What if its' true? If Jesus is who He claimed to be, if the Bible has answers to our most important questions, then everything depends on our willingness to trust Him we will never know real joy, real meaning, or real peace. He is our Creator and He seeks a personal relationship with us. Have you responded to His love with faith and accepted His invitation to everlasting life, forgiveness, and peace?

Let's eat!

Hello blogsphere! Today, I'm sharing RANDOM pictures of my favorite foods! Enjoy yourself!

My homemade Curry Udon

This is one of my most favorite version of Curry Udon ever, thanks to Kaz (my sister's boyfriend who is half Japanese and half Filipino) for sharing the recipe! During my College days, whenever I have extra money... I won't end my week without even having this! Yes, it does look like "menudo" (a Filipino food) but of course it taste different. The udon itself gives a unique flavor to it. It's delicious and very easy to make!

One of my favorite Korean food, bibimbap!

Before, i wasn't really a fan of Korean foods, but every time I watch my Korean dramas... it makes me want to try their delicacies. && am glad I did tried their foods, it's yummy! One of my favorite is this! I don't know... for some reason their food gives a satisfying taste and it always makes me feel good. I love it! If you guys are willing to try something different, try this or any Korean foods except for Korean bbq (something new to your appetite). =D hehehe Thanks to Kris by the way for introducing this to me!

back to japanese food, SUSHI!

My friend/co-worker KC and I has been on stand-by the whole day at our work, we haven't had our dinner yet and it's pass 9 p.m. ,then to our surprise... our super thoughtful Kuya Rick (one of our co-worker too in Prime Media) stopped by and got us SUSHI! Awww... how thoughtful!

It's called sizzling BALOT and fabulous BINAGOONGAN!

No matter whether you hail from north, south, east or west, these recipe will become a favorite comfort food. This is so far the best cook of BALOT and BINAGOONGAN I've ever tasted. I highly recommend it especially to all my non-Filipino friends out there! If you have PATIO FILIPINO near your area, GOOOO! They serves great Filipino foods there!

ADVANCE HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SISTER GEEJAY AND HAPPY 4 YEARS AND 10 MONTHS ANNIVERSARY BHEB KO! I LOVE YOU BOTH!

The City That Never Sleeps

I LOVE NEW YORK!

My 4 months of wait was worth it! We had an amazing time riding all New York's famous transportation, learning the stories behind all famous landmarks, and seeing the beauty of the CITY itself. This is the reason why I love to TRAVEL... it gives me extreme joy. It helps me to realize that LIFE really is BEAUTIFUL and that GOD is really POWERFUL!

We arrived in New York late than we expected due to heavy rain. Because of that, we didn't get a chance to stroll around... so we just ate our dinner and prepare ourselves for the following day. Thank God for the weather's perfect on Sunday and we got to our BUS TOUR station early. The Gray Line Double-Decker Tour in New York allowed us to go around major sights without worrying about maps and parking. We rode the whole loops without getting off first and then decided which places we wanted to see closer and got off to those. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made our whole tour extra special for they were very friendly, approachable, and helpful!

Empire State Building
It was the first building to have more than 100 floors in the City. It allowed us to go all the way up to 86th Floor and witnessed the breath taking view of New York City!

BEAUTIFUL!

Time Square
This is the one of the places that made NEW YORK a city that never sleeps. It is famous because of many broadway theatres, cinemas, and all those HUGE advertisements/billboards!

Madison Square Garden
This is the World's famous Arena in New York City... Filipino's singing sensation Charice Pempengco performed here with my favorite Celine Dion not so long ago.

Brooklyn Bridge
This is the oldest suspension bridge in the U.S. According to our tour guide JORGE, Brooklyn Bridge connects New york boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn and is considered an architectural statement of the optimism of the Industrial Revolution.

World Trade Center/Ground Zero

part of Manhattan Bridge
Another suspension bridge that connects lower Manhattan and Brooklyn on Long Island.

King of the Hill
The Park Central Hotel. It is one of the finest hotels in the heart of New York City.

The Waldorf-Astoria
This is the hotel for rich people and it is also the hotel where Pres. Clinton stays most of the time whenever he's in New York. Yes, the outside doesn't look nice but the inside's actually very luxurious.

St. Patrick's Cathedral

Central Park
The largest public park in N.Y. and it is the first urban landscape park in the U.S. I was not able to take picture of the whole park because during that time I was super busy eating my snacks. HAHAHA But the interesting fact about Central Park though, it is 100% artificial. Yes, that's right. It seemed natural but everything is really created artificially... props to Mr. Olmsted and Vaux for they were the ones who designed it. You should see it yourself... very creative!

Statue of Liberty
It is a gift from France to the people of U.S 100 years ago in recognition of the friendship established during the American Revolution. This is the second symbol for freedom next to U.S Flag.

Ellis Island
The nation's premiere federal immigration station. The symbol of American immigration.

Rockefeller Center
This place is an art deco marvel consists of many commercial buildings that tourist will surely enjoy! This is where you'll find the famous Ice Rink that has become a quintessential in New York City winter experience for generations. This is the Ice Rink where John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale shoot their famous movie entitled, "SERENDIPITY". In here, it feels like CHRISTMAS everyday. I love it!

*sigh* 4 days isn't enough... so guys, when you all decide to visit NEW YORK, I highly recommend to stay there for at least a week, to be able to enjoy everything. Oh and if it is your first time visit, please be prepared financially... hehehe =D

Here's are the websites that helped us a lot during our tour:
